Friends of focus meetings
IMPORTANT FORTHCOMING EVENT
Our next Friends of FOCUS meeting will be held at the Poplars Day Centre on Tuesday 10th February at 7.30pm. Sam Bolam, former mental health development officer with Public Health Department, is coming to talk about the research work which the Charity is about to undertake with carers to establish what additional services might help them to undertake their role. We would like as many carers as possible to attend so that we might use the meeting as the first focus group exploring the needs of carers locally. FAMILY FUNDAY SCHEDULED FOR 12TH SEPTEMBER 2009
| FOCUS Funday with St.Pauls FC : please note that the Charity will be holding another Funday in association with St. Pauls Football Club on the 12th September this year. Anyone wishing to offer help with the day can contact me in the first instance. |
Tuesday 13th May: Dr. Margaret Bayes has kindly agreed to give a talk about the work of the Jersey Association of Carers and to take questions from the floor. The meeting will begin as usual at 7.30pm and the talk will be given at 8pm.
Tuesday 10th June: the meeting will take place at the Organic Farm Project, Les Bourgeons, Les Petites Rues, St. Lawrence E3 1FD. Mr. Peter Le Feuvre who runs the project has kindly agreed to show Members around the farm and talk about the work undertaken by the 30 service users who attend weekly. The meeting will begin at 7pm to take advantage of the light and everyone is most welcome to attend. Peter has asked us to let him know the number of people who will be attending so if you are joining us please let Anton Skinner on telephone number 851124 or via email: antonskinner@googlemail.com. We will have tea/coffee and biscuits after the tour of the farm.
Tuesday 8th July: Jim Hollywood, Consultant Psychologist will be giving a talk and welcoming questions from the floor. Please note that the meetings on the 13th May and the 8th July will both take place at the usual location of the Poplars Day Centre at the normal time of 7.30pm and that everyone is most welcome to attend.

We are still looking for volunteers to help man the FOCUS checkpoint, which is likely to be at Greve de Lecq. Anyone able to help out is asked to contact me either on email: antonskinner@googlemail.com or tel:851124.
Flag Day
please note that the FOCUS Flag Day is on the 21st June 2008 and if you are able to help out on that day please contact Maureen on the numbers given above.
Piano Recital
·An event later in the year: on September 13th there will be a piano recital by Edward Bailhache, sponsored by BakerPlatt, taking place at the Arts Centre with proceeds going to Focus. Tickets will be available at the Arts Centre nearer the time.
